The idea for Babysteps Medical came about when Dr Adrian Tan and Dr Lim Shu Fen became parents to their baby boy, Lucas, in 2019. He had jaundice when he was born and had to go for regular checks at the clinic. Despite all of their medical experience, they were not prepared for the challenges in bringing a newborn (and tired postpartum mother!) out for repeated appointments. They counted themselves lucky that for most other medical conditions, Lucas could be treated at home. There was no hassle of travelling, no rush to meet appointment times, no waiting around at the clinic.
"Why don’t we help other parents avoid the stress of medical appointments at clinics too?" – Hence Babysteps Medical Singapore was born!
